Yep. I used to do landscaping for a HoA something like 20 years ago as a summer job and the old dude there taught me how to do it.

A solid bladed edger nice and slow, best done walking backwards so you throw the grass down where you have been, rather than where you are going. Don't angle it in too far or you start kicking up turf.

When you're done, if you did it right and assuming you used a mulching mower, you can now blow all that grass hard into the fresh edge and it will look like this.

Couple of good gusts of wind and the first rain will see the dead cuttings turn brown and go fly away and the natural edge start to return.

Not before we got paid though.....
