Lawsuit: Shaw gave Cantonese and Mandarin speakers better deals, former employee claims

You've gotten lost in the metaphor.

I haven't. I think you took it the wrong way. I'm still talking about what you said in your first post.

Certain channels are bundled together as a discount (eg. Fairchild, LS Times, Phoenix TV and Talentvision in the Cantonese pack would cost $10/mo as a pack), while the individual channel subscriptions are $19/mo, $4/mo, $16/mo and $10/mo respectively. If you don't speak Cantonese, I'm obviously not going to offer you the Cantonese pack at $10/month...but it's still a better deal than the alternative, and I technically didn't offer it to you due to the language you spoke.

Regardless what language a customer speaks. If they are subscribed to all the individual channels that make up a bundle, they should be receiving the bundle discount. it doesn't matter if you offer it to them, you don't get to decide, they still qualify for it. That is what I've been saying. If you order the individual items of a big mac meal, you should get the pricing for the meal even though you did not specifically ask for the meal or were offered the meal.

If they are not subscribed to all the channels then of course they wouldn't get the bundle discount but that's not what I'm saying. My original response was to the discount being 'offered' or arbitrarily excluded because they don't speak Cantonese, instead of automatically qualified for (that's been the basis for each of my responses)

If a customer individually subscribes to all the same channels that are included in a bundle, they should receive the bundle discount. Doesn't matter what language you think they speak or what language they choose to use on the phone. They would still get the bundle discount.
