The law doesn't work like that.

If someone accused you of murder, your best hope is their lack of evidence beyond reasonable doubt. That doesn't mean he is guilty just because he doesn't allow an investigation. The interpretation of whatever is found during such investigation, even tangential info, could be used against him despite (hypothetical) innocence.

If you are required to comply with an investigation, then your responsibility becomes proving you didn't do it. Which is significantly more difficult.

The prosecution knows this and know they don't have enough admissible evidence and are using politics/media to pin him. This wouldn't occur for any normal person.

If he did it then he is a piece of shit and should rot in jail.
