So a while ago I was assaulted and my jaw got broken in multiple places. I've already had surgery its mostly repaired, or at least what they were able to fix they could. I'm still missing a tooth and have plenty of jaw pain from time to time.

I've already pressed charges and the DA has done a good job organizing my case. I was offered kind of a settlement with the defendant where they will have to pay me money for all the bills i have racked up due to this incident. I owe thousands to some hospitals as well as other money else where. The defendant has offered to pay for it all and the charge will be dropped from a felony to a class b misdemeanor.

Honestly i dont care about what happens with the defendant but I feel like im being cheated anyways, i missed work for over a month and had to spend plenty of money i didnt have because of this.

Really what im wondering is what are my options? Do i need to accept the settlement so i can get the money and pay my bills off or am i being offred to little. I feel like they should haeve to pay more for loss of wages and pain and suffering. There getting a felony off their record so this incident will really be meaningless to them where i will have to deal with the pain the rest of my life.
