I don't qualify for free legal aid. I tried that. So much went down that just wasn't legal. For instance the judge met with the attorneys in her robing room for the very first pre-conference hearing. My attorney without my knowledge or permission said I agreed to the divorce and took the blame. It was never done in open court and never was read into the record as a stipulation. This was a very hard pill to swallow because there was Domestic Violence issues. I was victimized by the Court all over again. I got a second attorney and the first thing I wanted done was for him to get that undone. He refused to after I gave him the retainer money.

I don't know what is going on in the County of Chemung in the State of NY. But the whole thing was a sham. I never got basic discovery like bank accounts, retirement accounts etc. It was awful to go through. Married for 25 years. 5 kids and he obtained 4 upper educational degrees while we were together. He went to college 18 1/2 years of the marriage.

The only place I persevered was on the Appellate level. He tried to make me lose my house. The Supreme Court judge ruled against him. It was the only thing he didn't get away with and he couldn't handle it so he took it to the Appellate Division 3rd Department in Albany, NY. I had to represent myself Pro-Se and somehow I won. It all got down to one line I uttered: "The Plaintiff reasons that if he stops me from putting the house in my name that he would never have to pay the increase in maintenance that was set to begin when that happened."

He's never going to stop. I thought when he got remarried that he would have moved on. Apparently not.

Since he has lost control of me he has used the legal system to harass me. I call it legal abuse.
