I hear you. I went to Baptist school for a while as a kid. Nothing makes you question faith more than being raised in a strict religious household!

People who are close minded come from all sections of society. To me when any group takes that to the point of "we are the only ones who know the truth, we will make everyone like us", it stops mattering if what they believe is fact checkable. It's the attitude and perception they're bringing to the table that makes them dangerous.

The pendulum has swung pretty far now and people openly spew hate towards Christians and don't get me wrong. I get why they're pissed!

But I think it's short sighted and dangerous to assume that eliminating religion will eliminate the horrific wars and human rights issues and the video above makes that point only too well.

Ever see the movie "Equilibrium"? It's a fun watch and definitely the point of it is relevant to our discussion.

I'm definitely not sitting here going "religion is awesome, take that atheists!" I just think a lot of people are going to be surprised if they think eliminating religion is going to solve the problem.
