I think anything like the Emmy's are kinda bs. Interesting yes, but they change a lot of peoples perception of what's good. Most people don't think much about the politics behind it. Opinions are always valid, no matter the insanely seeming opinion a person might have, people like Coldplay and voted for the Natzi's you cant trust people to say what is "good" or "bad". Its nonetheless an interesting thing to watch. I think GOTY is a really tough thing to choose as well. Lots of reasons you said. If street fighter won that would be bias because im not into fighting games , but it could be the best iteration released , game changing new fighting game. But I hold no interest in it , and like the judges and myself we are human. Being human cause bias there is no way around it. Color, smell, movie, book, game, we all have our likes , loves and hates.
