Leap or Tumbleweed? Minor insights for new users from an OG....

So I decided to give Opensuse a shot. It has never been "for me" as I could see it - the design for things like installation is in that uncanny valley for me and I have so far chalked it up to "Opensuse is designed for someone else than me" (which is A-ok). So so far been using Arch mostly.

I'm a graphics designer and this is for my work laptop so some sort of stability is relevant for me at the same time I want as up to date Plasma as possible (since Im a KDE fanboy and contributor in the past plus Wacom settings is key for me) and up to date packages (Since Gimp, Inkscape and Blender all have gone through recent relevant updates) - the only proper alternative I could find was Tumbleweed (and even there Inkscape isn't up to date, so I guess its just lagging behind before being tested) but since Opensuse isn't something I'm comfortable with its also hard to figure out stuff I would usually do quickly elsewhere.

Anyone have any suggestions? Am I thinking about this wrong? What would YOU prefer if you where in my shoes and is it something I really should remember when doing this?
