Learn to German in the ACT?

each tutor sets their own rates. My chinese guy was $5-10/hour, Germany's a developed country so you might be looking at $10-20/hour. Depends on your learning style too, I found it much more effective than classroom-style instruction where accountability and teacher time are both shared with the other students. The time I saved doing questionably-effective drills I instead used to learn a shitload of vocab that I tested with my teacher, and I could ask questions specifically about living in the country where I wanted to go after our month of tutoring online.

That being said, classroom teaching offers the advantage of meeting other people learning the language, social aspect can be quite motivating. You can easily find conversation partners online to practice with.
