I've not broken any rules and I'm trying to contact a member of the community who I can only contact like this. Why would you not allow one thread like this which won't even get upvoted to disturbed the front page likely? Is there any other possbile way to do it?

It's a politics discussion forum not a bulletin board, I remove threads for being irrelevant all the time.

I've tried to get you to delete actual rule breaking stuff and you've argued "benefit of the doubt" or "needs proof of bad intent", and I've sometimes had to wait days to get a comment outright insulting me deleted, yet when I make a thread you don't like that doesn't break any rules you delete it within five minutes.

So what you're telling me is that essentially "get stuffed" in terms of trying to contact him because there is no other way to contact this person is there? You didn't even ask what it was about, what if it was someone asking for mental health support for example? "Not your problem"? Because certainly it's not "nothing we could do about it", you could have chosen to leave up this one thread and let me try to get in touch with someone. It hurts absolutely no one and it's not even making an exception to the rules becase I'm not breaking any rules, you are simply making a judgement call on what is allowed.

You could have thought what you said and stiill gone "ah but it's just one thread that probably won't get upvoted, I'll just let it go unless it becomes a problem". And remember downvotes exist for a reason. So why delete it? It's like community policing, the sign of a good person with power over others is not whether they technically were allowed to exercise power, it's when choosing not to when they don't need to. There was no need to delete this unless you choose to.

It's a politics discussion forum not a bulletin board

It's a small enough community many users recognise each other's by their username and many of us talk (or argue) with each other almost daily.

There is nothing wrong about wanting to let someone I missed a IM off that I wasn't ignoring them. I don't see any problem, least of all anything weird, about wanting to use a thread to do it. And whatever you say it's clearly not a rulebreaking post, so it was judgement call on your part, a personal choice not an appeal to clearcut rules. It's inherently personal.

I really don't

Well maybe the mods are all just more strict than they used to be or something but you delete my posts more than any other mod and out of something like the 13 days I've spent banned total on this sub in about 5 years 10 of those days have been since you have been the most active mod. So when I literally make a reasonable community based thread that affects no one and is easily ignored and I double check all the rules before posting, then you call it a weird thread and delete it anyway, it doens't feel like I'm getting a fair shake.
