Legal Advice/Police Investigation

Absolutely untrue, and dangerous of you to provide unqualified legal advice over the internet to a desperate person. If a person is going to be charged they must be offered to opportunity to participate in a formal record of interview. There is no blanket "you'll only be invited for an interview if ....", every case is different. Refusing an interview could be detrimental if the police have a solid case but the defence has a legitimate excuse. If that excuse is not raised during an interview, it looks a bit contrived raising it in court later. In the UK suspects are warned that failure to mention something when questioned which they later rely on in court will harm their defence, and there has been a push for that in Australia also.
