Legal Analysis Surrounding the MYM/Kori Situation

Ever since I've been interested in the eSports scene since Starcraft I've always noticed that most of these issues arise due yo many simply taking advantage of people. We see this drama regularly here and numerous people just act unprofessional daily in multiple circumstances.

I completely agree that one of the substantial problems are due to all these guys being unable to keep calm and make logical decisions in tight places. This is largely due to many of the players being young much like you've said and they truly need some kind of support and advice ESPECIALLY with the amount of shifty characters in this business.

Are there no inductions of sorts to offer advice to new players once they are about to join the LCS and how to deal with any of these possible problems? Someone properly appointed to go to if there are these issues? If not a Union is definitely a fantastic idea and I've heard you talk about it multiple times since last year but I imagine getting something set in stone is a real pain. It would be great to have a small team to simply be able to talk to a player or even staff member in a team and get them to calm down and just act as a middle-man to work it all out.

In regards to these contracts though I've never personally seen one myself however is there no standard contract? It always seems that all of these contracts that are handed to players are 1000% of no real benefit to the player and will always lean towards the Org's leaving the player on the streets if something happens which the Org doesn't agree with.

Personally, if I were dealing with these contracts or if I were a professional player I'd want it looked over twice by other people... not just legal counsel but others too. I understand many younger players or people that want to be in esports would just sign on the dotted line at any opportunity but that just seems completely unwise. I've admittedly done a Law degree here in the UK so I have a bit more of an understanding about contracts to 'some' extent. But I always fall back to the issue that people who are signing these kinds of contracts simply aren't informed enough to check it properly and ask questions before signing.

I'm interested in following your work at the moment Snoopeh and really hope something good comes from providing some sort of 'Global eSports Union' who can advise and assist any players in the scene and just be a short call away.
