I think you are completely right and make valid points about her bigotry towards Black women. I just also think that when it comes to cases of sexual assault, people can unintentionally divert attention away from the perpetrators.

In regard to "white feminists" arguing about divisiveness, society holds all women accountable for the sins of one woman. You, as a woman, will have to pay the price for Dunham being a piece of "trash". Even worse, as you probably know, you will have to pay a higher price because you are a minority.

That price will be extracted from you in the classroom, employment, courtroom, even in line at the grocery store. Dunham was completely in the wrong, there's no doubt, but she is a symptom, not the sickness itself.
