Lesson idea from today's protests.

over qualified and under paid. Most of my coworkers have Masters Degrees, some have Doctorates but of course we are a bunch of unintellectual yahos.

The bar for admission to and receipt of education degrees is somewhere in the basement under the concrete. The "doctorates" are typically EdDs, which are handed out like candy by many a fly-by-night outfit. Major research universities (Harvard being a notable example) no longer offer the EdD because of this.

Don't confuse bureaucratic busy work with high-level intellectual work. Some of us have proper academic content master's degrees, and a tiny, tiny handful of us have proper PhDs from brick-and-mortar, Carnegie R1 research universities. But the MEd, MAT, EdD, EdS, etc., are NOT on that plane. They're not. No. Absolutely not.
