“Let them die in the streets” USA, 1990

How about this? I build the factory myself, using my own two hands. The factory makes widgets. I'm good at making a factories, but not widgets. So I ask you to make me widgets, and I will sell them and give you half of the profit. I built the factory where you make them, so I get half, and you built the widget, so you get half. Over time more and more widgets get sold, but you can't keep up because there is just one of you, so now I hire 4 more widget makers just like you, that all get a half widgets-worth of the profit from the widgets they make, but I still own the factory, so I get 5 times more profit than each of the individual workers. Extrapolate that to 10,000 workers and all of the sudden I'm a billionaire and the workers still make a half-widget profit. Almost all of my labor is making sure the widgets get made according to plan, and the widget-makers labor is following my instructions and making widgets.

I think this is a decent enough analogy that eliminates the need for workers that build the factory and other factors that muddy the water. What do you say about this situation? It seems pretty analogous to a simple modern factory. Where does this story go wrong?
