Let people enjoy things.

pumpkin spice, avocado toast

this is fine for people to like, taste is subjective so there's no real arguing. on the other hand, if you're always posting about pumpkin spice or whatever because of marketing creating desires, that's worth criticizing. no one in the world loved bacon as much as 2014 reddit pretended it did, which is why bacon milkshakes and all those 10000 unnecessary bacon flavored products went away

fandoms

nope, no reason to exist. like something yourself without having to create a bunch of catchphrases and toxic orthodoxies and dogmas about how to like it with other people. nerds deciding they needed their own version of spectator sports was a bad idea. you know how awful it is when someone just has to make their thing being a Patriots fan or whatever? it doesn't get any better because you're into being a witch from Gryffindor

d&d

there are plenty of valid ways to criticize how many people play d&d. minimaxxers just playing the most efficient pen and paper videogame and not crafting a story and doing improv narrative are missing the forest for the trees. horny dms constantly creating situations for female characters to have to slip out of their clothes to escape, rapey brigands, etc.

too early halloween decorations

if it's a personal ritual thing, sure, that's fine. I've seen it, like Christmas decorating, turn into multi hundred dollar contests to keep up with the Joneses before, and that's worth criticizing
