Yeah well you can't say it's somebodys fault for getting raped but it seems to get past a lot of folks that not everybody in the world in 100% mentally sane. No sane person thinks raping is ok, and anybody who rapes somebody has a mental defect no matter how 'normal' they appear (in fact that's part of the act).

Rape culture is not defined by the commentary of people who have literally 0 understanding of a given situation other than hearsay. In fact, if you think the US society is a rape culture, you my dear are extremely sheltered. Fuck prison rape, go look at India or other Middle Eastern countries. Where rape was and is tolerated with literally no punishments because nobody cared. In the US, yeah convicting somebody of a crime where there usually are no witnesses except the survivor and the rapist is pretty fucking hard. That doesn't mean nobody cares. And again, yeah there's a few bad apples for investigators and cops where people's stories are shutdown and aren't investigated. Just like cops that shoot and kill people for no reason, they are the 'defects' but they are not the rule. For some reason, the idea is that no cop ever cares if somebody gets raped and they laugh at you if you report it. That's a bullshit and irresponsible generalization to make. But its an easy one to make because those are the ones that make people stop and read, whereas when they do their job its ho-hum.

That's one in every 3 people, male OR female, at a party who either cannot understand the moral implications, derive pleasure from raping or some other malfunction in their brain that allows them to do it without feeling guilty. So yeah its a little fucking irresponsible to go to a party where you're surrounded by these mentally-ill strangers and you get piss drunk where you can't even control yourself. And its not even limited to sexual rape. These people are wired to recognize a vulnerable target and treat it like prey. 'What would you do?' the TV show has this all the time on its bits. Blackout drunk homeless man with a nice watch. Guess what? The world doesn't shit skittles and rainbows, so people who are wired like I described above, will go take advantage of him and steal the watch, multiple times per bit. Like yeah, I'm a dude so while I may not have to be on my toes about sexual predators at a party, I would never put myself into a situation where I turned myself into a vulnerable target for a sicko to steal shit from me, try to pick a fight, etc. There is a fundamental similarity in the mental makeup of people who rape and people who take advantage of targets they perceieve as vulnerable in non sexual ways.

It's absolutely absurd that somehow this notion of 'You have the right to get blackout drunk and have absolutely no control over yourself and expect that a bunch of strangers/friends/whatever, all from the country with the highest rate of mental illness, is gonna end ok every time.' Like the fact that this is publicly shamed by people who claim we live in a rape culture... That's just so irresponsible and naive it makes my blood boil. It's like these people think the world is full of rainbows and skittles, not sociopaths and predators. Move off your farm in Oklahoma and see what the real world looks like, because it ain't always pretty. If you want to wear a thong and pasties out to the club by yourself, good for you. If you are too naive or lack the critical thinking skills to realize 'this is going to cause a lot of attention. This is increasing the chance that I will garner the attention of a mentally ill individual. To make sure I am prepared for this unpleasant situation (something all of us do in everyday life, 'prepare for the worst') , I won't get hammered beyond consciousness, I will know where the bouncers in the club are located, I will keep an eye on my drink at all times," and etc. Why is that so hard to comprehend? Sometimes I don't think it is, and a majority of females understand this. It's just that its easier and requires less effort when you see this to go 'well just teach boys not to rape.' As if rape is something you can take a teenager's head and shove it into and say 'NO! BAD BOY!' If that's really the solution that these people want to stick by, it just shows how clueless they are about the things they try and discuss. You're going to spend a supermajority of your 'teaching' lessons telling people who are hard-wired 'rape is very bad' and you're spending the rest of it telling people who can't or don't care to comprehend what you are telling them. Like a little 'don't murder people, its bad' class stopped Aaron Hernandez from becoming an (alleged) serial killer. That mother fucker is a sociopath and literally doesn't have the ability to comprehend why murder is a horrific thing, or he does and it gives him pleasure to have power over somebody like that.

I don't even care if this gets read. I'm sure somebody will pick out a line out of this whole thing and tell me why, because of that one line, I'm wrong about everything. But the reality is: this world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. You are responsible for your own well-being (not to be confused with 'dressing like a slut will get you raped' because...most rape victims aren't dressed provocatively. which tells you hey, rape doesn't happen because all men are gorrila brutes, its because the rapist's brain derives pleasure from the power of making somebody their own toy). But men and women alike understand, for the most part, that you are responsible for your survivial and well being. If that means packing a knife, or mace, so be it. Those are not an unusual thing to carry for the women and men that I hang out with. Because I know there are people out there fucked in the head and who could fold me into a pretzel with their muscles. I've never had to deal with that yet, but I'm prepared in case it ever happens. Because like most of society with the ability to critically think, I understand that some inhabitants of earth are able to do horrific things. I wish they weren't and didn't exist, but the reality is they do.
