Lets Cut the Devs some slack...

I'm not upset about them taking their time to squash bugs, honestly, they were on top of the ball as far as that goes. What I am upset about are the poor design choices. This wasn't something that they just casually pushed live without thinking about it, this got through several departments before hitting live. They had time to think about how it would be structured, but still made choices that are pretty bad.

The event was advertised as being geared toward new players and uniting the community. It was supposed to be a way to bring everyone together and give people something fun to do and also introduce new players to limited time events. However, it's not new player or free to play player friendly at all. You don't get the usual EXP or Karma from the events- that was a design choice. You actively lose gold while doing it- design choice. The Mordrem don't drop anything- that was also a design choice. The payout is really low and punishing- that was yet another design choice that had to get through several people in various departments.

Sure, it's not going to be the end of the world if this goes down on Monday and only the people who spent 90+ hours grinding get anything, but that doesn't make the poor design choices just go away. They're important, and lessons can be learned all around for future events like this- though honestly, they've had years to work on these things and should know better. If this was a "usual" release for them, meaning it stays up for two weeks, the scaling of the rewards would have been fine. That still leaves us with the net gold loss that would still make the event something that's just not worthwhile, and that is disappointing after this long of a content drought.
