I assume you are one of the many people who deluded yourself and downvoted my comment? Let's ignore the cognitive dissonance here and assume there is actually something wrong with the game.

The reason I have a problem with this post is due simply to the fact you're suggesting Niantic change an ENTIRE aspect of the game just for your benefit. I mean, sure, it's unfortunate timing, but that isn't Niantic's fault. People have varying work life schedules. It's not up to them to make a straw poll and create specific event times for every single person. Just learn better time management. I have a full time job where the days I work are essentially non-existent, yet managed to somehow hit 40 and complete every pokedex except for the Sinnoh one.

I always venture to wonder what the point of these threads are. Do you suppose Niantic will read it and amend it? Sometimes things are unfair. To compensate for that, a little extra effort is required.
