Let's make finding gluten-free food easier

Storytime On my birthday my family and I went out to find a restaurant. We were in a village in France, and all of the restaurants were full, so we waited at a creperie for a table to open up. We got our table and look at the menu to see salads, burgers and buckwheat crepes, with a note at the bottom saying the food is prepared elsewhere so changing items is not possible. We confirm that the crepes were gluten free, and I order one. The waiter then came back to say they had run out, so I have to choose from a burger or a salad. There was a choice of three salads, two of which had croutons on, the third had chicken curry. I did not want a chicken curry salad as I had just recovered from food poisoning caused by a chicken curry, so all that left were burgers. Burgers with a bun. I ended up choosing the plainest burger, as I had no idea what to order, ended up crying which scared the waiter a bit (it had been a very long day as we had walked up a mountain, so I was tired), and they did bring it without a bun for me. It was possibly the most disappointing meal I've ever been on. Firstly it was my birthday, secondly I knew that finding GF food would be a bit tricky, and I did suggest that we just cook for ourselves, but seeing the buckwheat crêpes made me all excited, thirdly, how does a creperie run out of crêpes?!. Basically I ended up with a plain burger which I sent back to be cooked more as it was incredibly pink, with some fries. Because I cried, it upset my family, especially my mum, because she wanted me to have a nice birthday and she felt I had been let down. I'm pretty sure the restaurant offered my free ice cream which I turned down because I just wanted to leave
