Let's play What If: How do you think Halifax would be if the Halifax Explosion never happened?

I was never born. Nor were over 60 others in my family. So, of the ones I know of: * A widow wouldn’t have found comfort and love with another widow, and raised six wickedly funny, compassionate, and caring people themselves; * An Anglican Archbishop that led the church to change some fairly divisive policy re LGBT, women, and prosecution of crimes by priests wouldn’t have lived; * At least one volunteer suicide/crisis operator over a decade wouldn’t have taken thousands of calls; * An influential woman in the red dress movement and NIMMIWG wouldn’t have been born; * A wonderful jingle dancer would be missing; * Probably still tax on menstrual products in NS; * A lady in Sears would have died of her heart attack in the 90s; * An influential founder of our local Shriners, and fundraiser for burn victims, probably would have been doing something else; * A really nice improvement in the city wouldn’t have been quite as nice in the early 2000s. * 3 missing mining engineers; * 2 less psychologists; * 4 missing Merchant Mariners during convoys in WWII; * Local expeditions and fairs, charities, and more than a dozen grocery stores possibly wouldn’t have as beautiful hand-painted signs through the decades. The rinks wouldn’t have looked the same; * A Canadian navy ship would have had to delay an emergency response to a conflict zone because just the right sailor with just the right unexpected credentials wouldn’t have been there; * Bunch of outstanding punk shows probably wouldn’t have occurred in the mid 2000s; * The BLT trail may not have been built with quite the same expediency; * At least 4 successful local shops and services would not have had their entrepreneur to create/run them; * Bunch of airport equipment, Metro Transit busses, etc. would not have been serviced in quite the same way, or so happily, in the 90s, early 2000s; * Dartmouth area Air Cadets in the 70s-80s would have missed out on a merchant seaman who organized their events and taught them dirty sailor’s jokes on the sly; * A terrible lawyer who represents terrible people would maybe have been replaced by someone who’d actually win; * At least two children would not have had the same adoptive parents; * At least 40 people, including 4 widowed ones with kids, would have found different spouses.
