lets do some COVID19 math, shall we?

It’s kinda interesting. I work hospital security and come into contact with fairly routinely. Usually it’s just quick encounters walking by someone or whatever. But I have had at least sustained contact with over a dozen people. Usually someone in the ER that is combative and we have to hold them down or go hands on and later find out they test positive because they are admitted. And I’m sure plenty more come through and are never tested.

We do wear masks obviously but they are the thin procedure mask. We don’t wear N95s unless we are dealing with a confirmed cases. I also use a lot of hand sanitizer throughout the day.

I say all that because it’s interesting that in the 7 months this has been going on, not one member of security 30+ strong team has caught Covid. Nor has any ER nurse that I am aware of. It’s possible someone has caught it and I just don’t know about it. But it’s definitely rare.

I do think the virus is real and contiguous. I say this because I believe the lock downs are utterly ridiculous. Wear masks, wash hands and clean surfaces. No reason anything should be shut down.
