if it makes you feel any better, i’m specced fire for maximum single-target damage. i don’t see how aoe is much better — i can kill mobs in 2-3 shots if i get lucky, and i don’t have to drink from zero to full mana after every fight. and 10% chance to stun from every spell is really helpful. and every spell also being a dot (or potentially a dot on crits) means i don’t have to worry about chasing fleeing mobs.

it is hard to find an SM group though (currently level 36). i always have to message the leader to make sure they’re okay i’m not frost... i never had this problem in vanilla.

not looking forward to respeccing for MC though. i wish arcane blast and haste were added in vanilla instead of TBC so i could go single-target arcane — TBC was the most fun i’ve ever had with a mage itself, although vanilla was more fun as a game as a whole.
