I mean, swamp man did deceive his community about playing the account alone as well as how much money he was making. That's inarguably bad, especially how hard he's been pushing merch, and it's reasonable that people are more critical of him now. That said most people have completely forgiven him and aren't making anything more than light jabs which he was getting before too, just not over such a sensitive subject for him.

The harm that some people on reddit did that was using that new doubt as proof for their conspiracy theories. Most people were just joking around, but in that environment there are always a few people who take it too seriously and misread the intent of the community. Either way it's stupid to group over 500,000 people together and say they're bad.
