LGBT Community: what is the state of support in the West. What still needs to be better?

In Europe I feel generally a lot of support, but only for my sexuality, not so much as my gender (I am non-binary). I also feel like in general that many think that once you approve same sex marriage, adoption and fertility treatment, that the work is done. It is not, and that is what is so frustrating. In Sweden for example, only recently did they remove obligatory sterilization for trans people that transition, and only this year does the non-bearer automatically become a mother when their child is born. Even then, the sperm donor is open, and of the sperm donor comes by and says “that child is mine”, then the non-bearer mother loses her right as a mother. I wonder if that even happens to hetero couples that use sperm or egg donations. There is still sneakt little laws and rules that make our lives difficult, and force us to nearly take a law degree just to make sure we are doing the right thing.
