I've been experimenting for the last few days. Postings stories from a variety of news sources, some are good news stories for liberals, others are bad news stories for liberals.
The bad news stories for liberals are consistently downvoted to 30% or less within minutes. The good news stories typically bubble up.
It looks as though users are monitoring the /new feed and systematically down voting such stories as soon as they appear.
The end result is the /hot page ends up being heavily filtered and unbalanced.
I tried posting an open appeal to the community ... would be nice if we could all behave and get along during the election cycle. But I think it's a lost cause.
I'm thinking my time contributing to /r/canada is at an end as, for me, it's become quite toxic and is no longer makes for a rewarding visit.
Cheers, all. It was fun at times.
