I asked a bunch of different policemen what their plan of action was in a home invasion, and they all said exactly the same thing but in their own words:
1) get my gun
2) get my family
3) go to the safe room (this can be any room with a door that locks)
4) lock the door
5) sit with my gun pointing at the door, and call for more men with guns.
This plan gives the officers a sense of safety.
My wife and I have found some land up North. It is near a native reserve. It is the most beautiful land I have ever seen; it's where I was born. We spoke to the neighbour; she is married to a native. On one side of the land, just down the road, is a reserve. On the other side of the land just up the road is a small town, and a bar. THe neighbour said that more or less on a nightly basis the natives walk back down the road piss drunk and or out of their minds on meth. In the past two years, they have broken into her home 4 times. Twice she was alone. They simply walked to the back of the house, put a brick through the sliding doors, walked in and began ransacking the place.
It is my position:
That I have a right to live on the land where I was born
That I have a right to a sense of security
That I have a right to defend myself in my home
That my wife has a right to a sense of security in our home when she is home alone.
and also:
that there are worse things, especially for a small woman, than death.
I am not trying to be malicious, cause annoyance or vexation or ill will or otherwise be untruthful; I am trying my very best to send good intent, good vibrations and to be true. I will ask you one last question, and then I will walk away peacefully from this discussion:
Do you disagree with any of these rights, and if not, what is your advice to my wife when she is home alone and they come for her?
