I propose implementing a small flat tax somewhere between 1.5-5% for the federal government and a constitutional amendment to prevent it from being increased, for maintaining a military and other expenses. However, I believe that taxation should primarily be left to the states as taxpayers should have more say as to where their tax dollars are spent and the rate at which they’re taxed. It’s absolutely necessary to abolish corporate taxes as they encourage malinvestment because shareholders are always wanting to avoid double taxation. Federal taxation and the Federal Reserve mainly serve to empower the federal government, leading to dissatisfaction among a significant portion of the population no matter whom is elected. In essence, the federal government should exert very little control over our lives.
