Licensed Motorized Vehicles in Bike Lanes

From my understanding (which may be outdated today) motorized bikes and scooters under 49cc can drive in the bike lane. Also electric bikes are allowed in the bike lane.

Here’s also something to keep in mind with this flaw. A motorized/electric Bicycle can definitely be in the bike lane. Nobody would believe this is wrong because it looks like a bike. Now we put a stronger electric engine and cover the bicycle with motorcycle fairings. It now looks like a motorcycle but it’s basically an electric bicycle.

I know we don’t need a drivers license for these motorcycles even though we should because they are fast and dangerous. But that seems to be the way it currently is. I believe ICBC will do something about this in the near future.
