I just started working at a new job during college that my mom got for me since she was friends with owner. 3 weeks in and i found a nice 04 cbr 600rr ($4200) that i was going to buy(convinced buyer to do weekly payments with typed contract, I wasnt planning on dropping lump sum). I was going to meetup with owner on friday night and after work 7pm when he paid me he let me go. I was confused and sad because there was no way i was going to afford the payments with no job. I ended up going through with it, and put 1200 miles sat and sun then told seller to keep downpayment, just accept the bike back. He said yes and i returned it monday. Now fast forward im 24 now, i would cancel deal. And that has to be a discipline fold. you can't put pleasure first when work is 2nd or not even in the formula (no job). Now ofcourse you can live a beach bum life and seek pleasure and live day by day, but you came here to ask and seek advice which means youre smarter than that. Because it will be fun today, then 1 week later it wont. I get you got let go and want to loosen up a little, but go and rent a bike for a day or a week to get it out of your system then get back on your grind. besides ALLL of this 5 paragraph essay, bikes as you know you drop money on it...service, gas, insurance, tires. With no steady income it wont be fun in a week or a month later. God forbid you get in an accident, or you lowside, or you kissed another car in a parking lot, with no steady income? no.
