Life in Pittsburgh - Honest Perspectives on the Cons?

You make some good points. I grew up in a neighboring county and have family in the area, I just haven’t lived in the state since the early 2000s. I was only familiar with Mt. Lebanon by name before our real estate agent took us there, but it seemed nice and maybe more chill than Sewickley, which is the only other non-East End area we’ve considered. I thought maybe it was a matter of you get what to pay for with Mt. Lebanon; for example I see people recommending the town of Beaver on this subreddit, and it’s certainly extremely affordable but when I lived there the people were pretty regressive and a town like that is definitely a non-starter also because my partner is Asian. I see that the houses in Mt. Lebanon cost more than some neighboring suburban communities but as a resident do you feel the amenities are not worth the higher real estate prices there?
