Why do you lift? How did you start?

These days there a lot of people who are environmentally conscious bring their own bags. Not sure what your life is like, but I live on my own and go shopping once a week, every week. I see grandmas, soccer moms, they all use their own bags. It's really common. Not saying that 90% of shoppers do that, probably more like 40%. Stores even sell their own reusable bags, and that's exactly what I use. When I go to WholeFoods, I use a WholeFoods reusable bag with their logo on it, and the same for other stores I go to. And again, I do this once a week, every week. If this is uncommon in your area, then don't do it. All up to you. You could also buy a few cheap items and ask for their paper bags, they're nice a big, and keep them to use next time. Again, it's really the same thing.

The most important part of this game is where you load up your bags. You need to find a blind spot that works in your store. Usually it's in the frozen foods section. This spot is best for me because it's always in the back of the store so that customers can reach the frozen stuff last, that way it doesn't melt as they're shopping. That's how stores are designed. This area is usually quiet, and gives me time to work privately (under 5 minutes or so, but still neatly so my bad doesn't look messy while I leave). If someone walks by, I just pretend to be reading the back of a box, or looking to make a decision. Another good tip is to carry the store coupon paper around with you. It gives you an excuse to stop and pretend you're reading while you scope shit out.

It sounds like you're kinda new at this. Grocery stores are easier than clothing stores, Walmart, Target, HomeDepot, any of that. Always be cautious, good luck.
