gyms getting tax exempt status, given how many of them are fuckin' scummy and scammy, with tremendous amounts of hidden fees, and $80 debit charges with only one option to pay in cash and its a 7 hour drive away (looking at you Goodlife bullshit), is a horrible fucking solution.

Maybe if the state owned and provided the entire gym that would work, otherwise its just giving rich people money for fun.

How about an across the board sugar tax? Or, better yet, make candy include warnings about what continual consumption does, like cigarettes, or soon to be Canadian liquor. Let it be bought and sold as it currently is but crackdown hard on "Can you see why kids love the taste of cinnamin toast crunch?" and replace that shit with a morbidly obese donut with an insulin pump stapled to its hip talking about how this cereal is so fucking good its worth the constant negative lifetime health conditions and increased heart disease risk.
