In light of the Bell and Thomas holdouts, what happens if a player holds out an entire season? Is it different if they're franchise tagged?

This is wrong.

You need 6 games for an "accrued season" but that is different than a "season."

Vincent needed an accrued season to be an unrestricted free agent, so he needed the season to be an accrued season.

The current cba is different.

Bell needs to show up the tuesday after week 10 because the cba says if you dont report by then you cant report ar all and must sit out the year, then they would be able to tag him for the same price as this year.

Bell does not need an accrued season because he already has 5.

Look at josh Gordon. 4 year contract after 2012 draft.

  1. 16 games accrued season, year 1 of contract

  2. 14 games accrued season 2, year 2 of co tract.

2014 5 games, not accrued season, year 3 of contract.

2015 nothing

2016 nothing

2017 5 games, not accrued season, year 4 of contract.

Since he only had 2 accrued seasons he was an exclusive rights free agent
