"Like any number of us raised in the late 20th century, I've spent my life perplexed about exactly how Hitler could have come to power. Watching Donald J Trump's rise, I now understand." -- Danielle Allen

If you don't want those products...then don't by them. Vote with your dollar. Isn't that what capitalism is? Why are you impeding capitalism by trying to establish tariffs? Not to mention, your concerns with labor and conditions in other countries should be addressed. In fact, Obama just signed legislation to help prevent America from importing from companies that use slave labor. This is a big step and there should be more steps like this taken in the future to slowly bring labor conditions of the world up.

Vote with our dollars? Americans are not educated enough to vote with their dollars. The only time we ever vote with our dollars is when their is something major in the news cycle. Who controls most of our media? Only these 6 corporations. Otherwise, people choose to buy the cheapest and most effective goods. By cheapest it would probably mean that it would originate from somewhere like China. It is absolutely terrifying that Western society is leaking capitol into totalitarian states. States that strip individuals of their liberties. Yes in the short-term this benefits Americans, but you forget that countries are competing globally to manipulate the framework in which we do business. At any time China's communist party can absorb or destroy their corporations. If China becomes a defining super power like the United States they will be able to exert their influence in unimaginable ways. I am completely fine with certain forms of protectionism to maintain political and economic sovereignty of my country, especially when the alternative is the influence from oppressive regimes. Finally, America has a long-term investment problem. Corporatism is extremely conducive to short-term profit, but can be absolutely detrimental to long-term profit. The environment, education, and infrastructure is being overlooked, because multinational corporations define our polices. It seems we are at a point in history where we have to choose between totalitarian government influence or oligarchical corporation influence, both of which are not ideal.

And no one is being politically correct. It is impossible to have diplomatic relations with a man that is as overtly racist and xenophobic as trump. Other countries do not respect him. How do you think that affects his abilities to make effective policies?

Screw trump but you have to admit liberals have gone to great lengths over the past few decades to redefine speech and control the narrative. Anything can be defined as offensive or unacceptable these days, and there are some topics that need to be addressed in a straight-forward manner. Trump is extreme, but the current political gerrymandering is equally unacceptable.

ISIS should not be taken lightly, and no other candidate is taking the situation lightly. The difference between Trump and other candidates is that Trump is fear mongering to make you think the biggest threat is ISIS, when there are hundreds of things that should be more concerning to you as an American. Like, how about the people starving in the streets? Or the fact that America has the highest poverty rate out of first world countries? Or how about our collapsing infrastructure? Or our failing education system? These things need to be the forefront of the issues we are trying to fix. Instead of using our tax dollars to fund endless wars, we should invest in ourselves.

I would have to agree with you there. I think if anything was to be done about ISIS it would have through a global initiative.

There is no other serious candidate that is a worse choice for America than Trump. You want to vote for him for the right reasons I assume. You want America to prosper, you want the standard of living to increase, you want America to be well educated, you want America to be respected by other countries, you want job growth in America. I want all of these things, but Trumps plans to achieve these are naive and revolve around placing blame on others instead of actually doing the hard work that it takes to make America great again. I'm ready to get to work and help build America back up. I'm ready to invest in educating our youth. I'm ready to help people out of poverty and create American jobs. Jobs were people of any race, creed, or religion can prosper. Because diversity creates a vibrant and innovative economy.

At least trump takes the immigration problem seriously. You would have to be a hypocrite to say unregulated/illicit migration is a good thing, while also pushing for an increased standard of living, and higher quality education for people that already live here. No one is saying immigration is bad, but their are better ways to go about it. Europe is certainly suffering from lackluster politicians not tackling their migrant problem in effective ways.
