Like the county?

Ah every dog has its day. Dublin are sure to win more all Ireland’s but the train can’t go on forever. It happened to Kerry, it happened to Kilkenny and it will happen to Dublin. They will be humbled eventually by a team that catches them on the day.

Flip the script for a moment. 2016 final last minute - Denis Bastick picks the ball off ground in the last minute of play, dead straight free for Mayo to win but it goes unnoticed, game goes to replay.

2017 final - 2 dub half backs collide into each other, deliberate free out but goes to Dean Rock for a 45 before half time.

2017 part 2 - After the 1st goal, Lee Keegan gets dragged to the ground inside the Dublin d. A dead set penalty but instead play is waved on with a 3 point turn around to finish.

Dublin won both matches by a point.

Now in both 2019 and 2020 there is a far clearer gap between both teams with Dublin no question being the better side . But there are cracks beginning to show and all it will take is one mighty good performance on the day with a stroke of luck too.

And if your to be brutally honest about it, Mayo have had feck all of it when it mattered most. Unless a serious regression affects the transition, don’t expect to this team to go anywhere until they go and do it.

You’re only unbeatable until your beaten and that day is coming.
