I like the game, but it's actually kinda shallow (unless I'm missing something)

I just did actually. I spent too much time on side missions and just hunting to hunt. It created a massive dead spot in the middle of the game in terms of enjoyment. Because once you get bored of just that core mechanic that's all there is. And while the story does drive it some of the missions really are not that fun. Take for example the part in Meridian where you have to push the explosives out of the warehouse. That was going to take out all of Meridian? The Bellow back or whatever it is has more the explosive stuff and it doesn't explode half as much. There was a lot of that. Where there was a story, but the telling of it was small. Beyond that, I know what the story was going to be in broad strokes before it happened. Some of the nuance like AI running the show I didn't see coming but the whole thing was still somehow cliche. There wasn't a lot of suspense to it.
