I like Modern Orthodoxy but find circumcision very difficult to agree with.

Maybe I'm cruel, but the pain of the baby for 2 minutes at 8 days old doesn't seem like a relevant factor to me. I'm sure in the moment, if, gd willing I ever get pregnant and have a baby where circumcision is relevant, I will cry with the baby. And then it will be over.

When I was in undergrad, one of my majors was women's studies. So, I had a strong phase of NO MUTILATION OMFG YOU BARBARIANS!!1! But, once I was out of college and able to study Judaism and Jewish feminisms, I ended up deciding that my earlier phase was very white/western feminist. My goyishe wife wasn't thrilled when I said that, but she's come around.

The medical reasons for circumcision are alright, the medical reasons against it are minor, the history of our people and it's traditions, and call of the covenant are strong.
