Likelihood of getting caught repeatably putting in produce as bananas at self checkout?

I’ve heard people say to scan a few items, skip an item scan a few, skip, scan a few. You scan them as bananas if that’s the thing. Usually the staff don’t care. They don’t get paid enough to care. Unless the manager or loss prevention are watching on the floor or the cameras, staff would rather not engage with a potential criminal.

I’ve continued to hear that it’s unwise to have a bunch of items and your bill is really low in comparison. Having 3 bags and your bill being $20 for example. It’s also not wise to try and steal something expensive that’s out of place. It’s important not to fly to close to the sun, so I’ve heard.

People steal all the time from stores, and they’re just stopped, asked to return products and leave.
