Lin Wood Misspells His Own Name, Among Other Mistakes, in Bizarre SCOTUS Brief Supporting Ken Paxton

I’ve been a legal Secretary for literally decades covering three states. They were either in a big hurry or too cheap to hire an assistant. Briefs are read thoroughly for grammar, spelling and context. I usually read through at least twice, and if I’m still not satisfied I’ll read it backwards if I’m “text’ fatigued. Old editing trick. As for names, If I am unfamiliar with the name, I’ll look them up on the attorney’s website or the State Bar’s website. I’m beginning to think this is a lost art. I actually went to school for this profession, but a lot of attorneys are hiring (cheap) unskilled or not experienced secretaries thinking they will train them on their own. It’s so much more than word processing, there is formatting and local and state rules. You have to know them to be good at what you do.
