Liquid co-owner: Team Liquid will 'overhaul' LoL roster for 2017 season

I think a lot of people think this ever since scarra gave his thoughts about TL on BTR. But I don't think it's accurate to say that TL could have had these players on the main roster. Most of them were outshined by other players on Curse/TL at the time.

I think TL's problem has always just been never having the right mix of players. They just haven't had the chemistry.

Hauntzer would never have been on TL's team because he directly qualified for LCS through Curse Academy (becoming Gravity). And that season was when Quas was at his prime. No one in their right mind would have replaced Quas.

Keane was actually offered a spot on TL (before we got Fenix). But Keane declined it to stay with Curse Academy/Gravity.

Aphro was on Curse for like a week as the adc. But that was when TL somehow picked up Piglet of all people. It was one of the most hyped acquisitions in the history of TL.

Pobelter we could make a case for, but I think the reasoning was that they wanted another Korean to help reduce culture shock for Piglet in Fenix. A lot of people questioned this one at the time, though.

Doublelift was a complete rookie when he was on Curse. I don't think anyone could have foreseen what a powerhouse he would become. Plus, he got an offer from CLG, which was already the more successful team at the time. I don't think Curse had a chance at keeping him. At any rate, DL wasn't kicked from the roster.

Dom pretty much played until the bitter end when the team was falling apart around him. Dardoch was the only reason TL wasn't relegated then and there that split.

I kind of think that TL has always gone for a "business" relationship with its players rather than the "family" route like TSM and CLG. I wonder if that's part of the reason for the lack of cohesion.
