List of fails at AGDQ/SGDQ?

not really feeling this thread -

as someone who just did a run for a GDQ, i can attest to the fact that going on stage and doing a live speedrun is one of the most nervewracking things a person can willingly subject themselves to. you've got a bustling tech crew in your peripheral vision; you're playing in a setting you've never played in before; you've got people on the couch analyzing your run; you've got people in the audience waiting to be impressed; and then you have the online audience who is the toughest crowd this side of an indie comedy club, and will make threads like this one to talk about your run if they're unsatisfied with your performance. while all of this is going on, you're dealing with the pressure that you'll be satisfied with your own run, because it's going to be a no-reset and you only have one chance to demonstrate the work that has gotten you onto that stage.

when marathon speedruns go really south, it's important for people to understand and appreciate these conditions, and bear a little respect for the people who are volunteering their time and effort to entertain a bunch of nerds in a hotel and on the stinkin' internet. peace -
