A list of forbidden names by Italian law (source in the comments)

I'm neither Portuguese nor Brazilian but I've lived in both countries (Portugal 20y, Brazil 5y). I won't disagree that the "livro dos nomes" in Portugal is restrictive, but it has thousands of names, different spellings etc. In Brazil as you of course know there is no such thing, so you have names like "Ualdisney" or "Jhon" and I'm not writing any more I've seen because I don't want to offend anyone. But come on. You name your child something from say this list and you think it's not a problem?

The fucking Brazilian president is named "Messias" which I frankly think is obscene enough for him to be jailed.

Anyway being a foreigner I wanted my daughter to have a non-approved name, that was 21 years ago. So I had to go to my country's embassy, where they gave me a paper stating the name I wanted to give my daughter is accepted under my country's law, and that was it. I'm sure things may be different now, when I lived there there were far fewer Brazilians than do now, so the rules may have changed.
