Listeners/lurkers....do you seek out certain tags or certain performers?

From the beginning I have filtered out any audios with the rape tag. I was raped, and it was so spectacularly un-hot that I couldn't be more turned off by it if I tried.

Last week, out of a desire to attempt to understand this very, very common fantasy (for both sexes), I started to listen to one about a kidnapping and rape. Let's just say it didn't go well. The realness of it just destroyed me, and I couldn't even listen for more than a minute. The fear, the pain, the humiliation, the powerlessness - too real.

So I won't even look at a posting tagged rape, and I admit that I can't listen to even a favourite performer anymore if he does a rape audio, requests one, or writes a script for one. I can't not hear that in his voice, I can't divorce the fantasy from the reality. He's not 'my kind of guy' anymore, if that makes sense, even though all I ever knew of him was my fantasy image.

I realize that requiring the tag on lots of audios that aren't really about rape can mean I might miss some great audios - but I do think it's necessary to err on the side of caution. I had no idea listening to that audio would affect me so badly, but even one minute of it had me crying like a baby for twenty minutes. So I think it's wise to warn people who were abused, coerced, assaulted while passed out or asleep etc that this audio features this kind of sex, and I don't think I'm missing out on a performer I'd like if he was into that kind of thing.
