Listening to music while working out is cheating. What do you guys think??

Slightly hypocritical maybe (all humans are, it's normal)but in the same audiobook, "Can't hurt me" (amazing audiobook btw with strong points, real to the core and great life mindset/outlook lessons, best I've heard in any audiobook with few intangible wordplay notions just the "sell" a book. It genuinely feels like he is speaking from the heart in hearing his voice. He tells the reader to find your own truth, not to copy him.and do what works for "you") so personally listening to music should be seen in the same regard.

With that said, slightly hypocritical (maybe) but David Goggins on multiple occasions mentions using movie scenes from rocky and platoon for drive or as he calls it "catching souls" and "taking from the imaginery cookie jar",

So listening to music shouldn't be seen as anything more than that specific individuals own reason for listening to it. There's no right or wrong, it's all in your mindset, with or without music.

Goggins makes some good points it might be cheating for himself to listen to music, but is using rocky scenes and chanting theme music from platoon while training also cheating, you can argue it is...but that is his truth, it doesn't mean it's "cheating" for everyone else.

TL;DR If music helps you relax, train harder, or you just love the art of music, go for it

If music doesn't do anything for you, don't listen to it.

When you copy someone else's reasons for doing something and it doesn't allign with your mindset. That's cheating in my book, because that couldn't look deeper in yourself and use take pointers rather than carbon copy completely; which David Goggins himself says to his audience never to copy him completely, always cross reference. Just my two cents
