Listening to this Ruck Pod and Will Carling claims “it’s harder for England to win a grand slam than it is for all the other countries (not Italy) as beating England is the most important game for everyone else.” Does this make it harder for England or just a poor excuse? He won 3 to be fair!

That doesn’t make any sense. It objectively can not be harder for England to win grand slams if they have won the most grand slams... (not since 6 nations started but if he is excluding Italy then there is no reason for me to stop at the division between 6 and 5 nations).

Everyone goes in and tries there hardest so whoever comes out winning must have found it more doable than others. That could be for all sorts of reasons but if you win it then it means that is easier for you to obtain than it is for others.

Also the argument is so vague, I could flip it and say that it is easier for England to win the grand slam because they don’t have to play England and therefore don’t have a rival who they feel a bunch of unnecessary pressure to beat (from fans, family, themselves etc)
