In my experience, Tinder is great when traveling abroad. I could spend one swiping session in a relatively decent size city and get at least half a dozen matches most of the time. These people may be looking for anything from a hookup to maybe potential foreign partner to someone who just wants to practice their English and show you around the city a bit. When I come back to the US, they are either looking for someone who is tall for a hookup or they want something serious. I'm not all that tall, but I have had some success in the US, but traveling and living abroad, I could meet someone new almost every day of the week if I wanted. In the US, I get way more success on Bumble of all things. The girls there seem much more open to speak and meet with me.
