A little advice and a little math that helped push me over the edge.

One of the tricks I tried was a habit tracker (which I use for other habits as well so I was used to using the app) to track days I drank. I also tracked a daily pledge to not drink. This pledge was a push notification that came daily around 330.

Over time I could see my patterns. When I saw it on a big calendar in the app I saw my alcohol free days were not anywhere close to what I wanted and I could see the periods of time that I did better in my sobriety.

It was pretty eye opening and encouraged me to look into what things had me drinking more and what things were associated with sobriety.

I'm over 100 days now and I still do my daily check in and it feels amazing to swipe no when my phone asks if I drank yesterday. My daily pledge is an opportunity to be mindful and helps interrupt that train of thought of drinking after work.
