My cat plays with this one mouse I've seen around my house. He stopped killing mice when he was little and got in trouble for making a mess with a mouse corpse. Ever since then he's just played with them or ignored them when he's seen them. And I don't mean like he toys with them like food. I mean he will gently boop them around and let them run around him too. There's one mouse in particular that I haven't caught in any human or pet food (he has a distinguishable tail and fur pattern that helps me tell him apart. He's also smaller than any other mice I've ever seen outside of dwarf mice), that Alduin, my cat, plays with that I just ignore. This lil guy is sweet as can be. First time I saw him I was actually able to catch him easily, he literally climbed into the bowl for me and just sat there, and the only reason he didn't go outside was because the dog barked and it startled me so the bowl I was carrying the mouse in got its cover knocked off and he went right back to playing with Alduin. The bowl didn't have an airtight lid on it by the way. I just had a plate covering it most of the way so he could breathe but not escape. So if I catch this mouse again, what am I gonna do? I'm gonna give him a bath, and give him a proper name. That's my cat's friend and he will be treated with respect. Holy crap I just realized I typed this whole comment and now I'm questioning my sanity because none of this is made up.
