I live in Albany Park in Chicago, one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the US, and a resettlement location for refugees, AMA!

I think my favorite thing is the economic diversity. Outside of a few neighborhoods it's hard to find a block without blue and white collar workers living as neighbors. It keeps the city vibrant compared to somewhere like San Francisco, where it's either white collar, or homeless. There's also something about the rust belt history of Chicago that speaks to me, the concrete and steel and hard work and rough edges of the city are something that inspires me.

I do like Deep Dish Pizza! My girlfriend grew up in NYC though, so we mostly stick to that style for thin crust (she thinks pizza cut into squares is a crime against man and nature). Also, every New Years Day I host "deep dish day", where we spend about 12 hours drinking and making 3-5 deep dish pizzas from scratch.

I have thought about living elsewhere, but for my work I need to be in a somewhat major city (I shoot TV commercials). NYC is a little too expensive, LA is too sprawling, and SF is too homogeneous. I really like Savannah Georgia, so a smaller sized city like that with a good art scene might be good.
